Weddings and Commitment Ceremonies

Ceremonies call us powerfully present as our act of choosing is witnessed by our community. The one who officiates stands in for God and pronounces the blessing. In this manner, the continuum is represented, from the physical to the high realms of Light. When I am asked to perform a wedding, it is important to me that the precious couple before me has the understanding, skills and resources that provide the greatest opportunity of forming a lifelong, successful and enriching marriage and this be a truly spiritual wedding — that I can pronounce God’s blessing with confidence.

“Spirit brings forward the blessing that is right and perfect for each person at that particular time… look at the glory of it when we have two people who will come together and hold the Light for each other”
John-Roger

I usually meet with each couple at least twice. First to learn about them, to form the marriage energetically (using a wonderful spatial awareness process), to clear any blockages or misunderstandings or family issues as necessary, to share skills of “marriaging” and to discern the highest purpose of the relationship.

“And God said to the soul:
I desired you before the world began.
I desire you now as you desire me.
And where the desires of two come together, there love is perfected.”
Mechtild of Magdeburg

Then we meet to create the ceremony; one which is deeply personal to them, choosing the symbols and language that have meaning to them. After the wedding, I give the couple a beautifully typeset copy of their ceremony.

My Commitment:
I believe that we are souls, each unique and magnificent. Therefore differences in skin color, sexual orientation, belief system, etc., are not considerations in my willingness and joy in being of service.
